Qatar Airways was established in 1933 and now it has become one of the major airlines serving various destinations. Daily thousands of passengers book air tickets to India with Qatar Airways. If you are one of them who used to fly with Qatar then make sure you are aware of the basic rules and policies by Qatar airways.

 Mostly passengers flying over the air have to face issues related to booking changes, cancelations, and refund. If someone is not familiar with the policies then their spent money can go worthless.

We have collected some of the basic information and policies related to booking with Qatar Airways. Read the following points and get aware if you want to save some money.

Ticket Cancellation Policy of Qatar Airways:

Daily multiple flights on different routes are operated under Qatar. There can be problems such as flight cancelation and delays due to bad weather condition. Passengers have to face difficulty at that time.In return, the airlines have to compensate for which many passengers are not aware of. Here’s what rights you have and what you can ask for in compensation:

If a flight is canceled before the departure of the flight, then it is the responsibility of the airline to notify the passenger about the delay or the cancellation of the flight. They may contact you via the phone number/ email address or any other way that you have provided to the airline as the contact information.

Cancellation within 24 Hours:

  • If you want to cancel the reservation you can do it within the 24 hours without any penalty.
  • In case there is 3 hours or more delay in the flight then the airline have to pay for it. You can freely ask for the refund.

For example, if you are booking flights to India and plan suddenly gets changed and you need to cancel the ticket. Then do it within 24 hours, there will be no charges for cancellation of the ticket.

Changes in Reservation:

  • For any modification after 24 hours, change in date, time of flight/airline as per your requirement you have to pay the applied penalty fee.
  • For shifting to a lower fare class a credit voucher is received to equalize the amount that can be used in future travel.
  • Reservations to and from the US can be canceled around 1 week before departure; penalty charges may be appliedif canceled after 24 hours of booking.

Reservation through Qatar can be made through:

  • Qatar Airways Contact Centre
  • Airport Ticket Office
  • City Ticket Office

Ways for modification/Cancellation of the ticket through Qatar:

  • Manage Booking tab: Modification can be made through the “Manage Booking tab” located on the official website of Qatar Airways.
  • Cancel Flight Button: Go to the ‘My Trips’tab on the website and click on ‘cancel flight’.Also, you can directly make a call to the Qatar Airways office or via Qatar Airways App online.

Note:

For Flights From/or US, Qatar Airways allow you to hold the reservation for 24 hours without payment. The fare rules will apply once payment is received and the ticket is issued to the passenger.

For Delay, Diversion, and Cancellation of Flight:

Each flight has its runaway and need to be departed at time. But, sometimes there may be the situation when the weather condition is not favorable those impacts in the flight and leads to delay or diversion in the flight.

Thus, the flying time needs to be shifted when the runaway is available. It may cause a delay in arrival as well as the departure of the flight.

Qatar Airways will make sure that each passenger is notified about the flight delay so that they may not get confused and don’t get a victim of unnecessary hurdles.

The airline is responsible for you to provide the most up-to-date and accurate flight status information within 30 minutes of becoming aware of such a change in flight. They will inform you regularly regarding:

  • Status and reason for the delay
  • Will notify you that they may deplane from the aircraft.
  • Re-booking your next flight

The information can be announced in many ways:

  • Boarding gate area for the flight at the airport
  • On the website of Qatar Airways
  • Call Centers

If any passenger is not happy with the changed timing of the flight then they can cancel it a few days before the departure of the flight. Airline responsibilities:

  • Rebook for the disrupted customers on the next flightor reroute them without any additional cost.
  • Re-route passenger to the destination by another carrierunder comparable conditions.
  • Provide the refund of the ticketif passenger no longer wants to fly.
  • Provide the refund on excess baggage and additional services charges.
  • Inform in advance of flight cancellationusing the contact information provided to the airline.
  • For a lengthy delay airline will accommodate you including the appropriate water, snacks or meals, hotel, and transportif you are disrupted.
  • Restroom facilities if necessary
  • Medical assistance if needed

Delay of 2 hours At Departure:

  • For two hours of departure airline will provide you various to services like the drink, meal, and communication and transport & hotel accommodation if necessary.

Delay of 5 hours At Departure:

  • If there is the delay of 5 hours in departure then you are entitled to a refund. If you accept this option, then the airline will not provide further facilities.

Delayed And Arrives 3 Or More Hours Late:

  • If such a case occurs then the airline will assist you with the financial compensation.

How to claim for the compensation during a flight delay?

If delays in flight have put an impact on your journey then you are eligible for compensation. For financial compensation, put the necessary information in the claim calculator on the website or the app. The airline will only provide the compensation only on the behalf of the person whose name is on the ticket.

Qatar Airways take responsibility of refund within 14 – 28 days.

  • If the flight is canceled due to extraordinary reason or natural conditions then there will be no financial compensation. Also, if the flight canceled with your choice then the airline is not responsible, no compensation will be provided.
  • A passenger is only eligible for compensation if the delay occurs due to technical or operational difficulties.
  • Airlines can cancel your flight due to some reason; then in return, Qatar airways can provide you another flight without any charges.
  • If you reach at your final destination with a delay of 2, 3 or 4 hours, then the compensation may be reduced by 50%.
