For the convenience of passengers there are three types of check-in offered by Etihad Airways:

In the traditional way:
In this type of check-in, you have to get to the counter. It requires the passenger to reach the airport 3-4 hours before the departure.
At the airport, check-in opens at least 3-4 hours prior to departure. To ensure stress-free access to the boarding gate, you must reach the check-in counter at least 90 minutes before your flight departure time. After less than 60 minutes prior to departure time, the check-in counter will be closed.
First and Business Class passengers traveling from the USA to India have some exception; at some airports of the U.S can check-in up to 45 minutes before departure.
Online check-in:
Nowadays there’s a trend of online web check-in that has reduced the difficulty of passengers by giving them ease for check-in. It saves your time from standing in the long queues of the airports.
Does Etihad Airways offer web-check in facility?
Yes, Etihad Airways offers a web check-in facility to its customers to provide them proper comfort. You can directly check-in through your mobile phones and avoid the long queues of people waiting for their turn.
When I can check-in Online?
For online web check-in with Etihad airways, you can do it 1 to 48 hours before your flight departure time.
What I will need for using the web check-in facility?
For identification purpose, you must have a PNR (Booking Reference Number), Etihad Guest Number, or e-ticket number while checking in.
Is the web check-in facility available for the group?
No, Etihad Airways web-check in is only for single reservations; group reservations aren’t allowed.
Moreover, with this facility and few simple clicks, you can choose your preferred seat, check-in luggage, special meal, and print your boarding pass too. You can check-in & print your boarding pass directly from your computer. Further, the e-Boarding pass will be sent to your email address provided by you. So, you can directly transit to the bag drop counter at the airport.
Note: Online Check-in facility is not available for the people with special service like Bassinet or Wheelchair.
Mobile Boarding Pass can be obtained by passengers with internet-enabled mobile devices. It must be completed at least 3 hours before departure using a mobile device.
City Check-in: Through this facility, you can receive your boarding card and check-in your baggage 24 hours in advance of your flight. It can be done with Etihad Airways and its partner airlines.
This facility is available in fee for all passengers with the following exceptions:
- Passengers with direct flights from Abu Dhabi to the US.
- Passengers with reduced mobility (wheelchair assistance).
- Unaccompanied Minors
- Passengers with waitlisted or standby tickets.
